This group is a safe space for Palestians, Arabs and allies, to witness and be witnessed, to be among others who “get it.”

In the past 7 months, we have witnessed a scale of violence that is incomprehensible, and traumatizing, to say the least. The intention of this group is to create a safe space for Palestinians, Arabs, and allies, to grieve, process, restore, and heal. Using art as a language of the body and the heart, participants will give these parts of themselves a voice.

Since trauma lives in the body, each session will include an embodied practice (meditation, expressive arts, etc). And since healthy relationships are also healing, each session will also include sharing dyads, and sharing with the group as whole.

Group Goals

  • To witness and be witnessed by others in our grief.

  • To leave group sessions feeling restored and connected.

Who is this Group for?

Before becoming a therapist Kaitlin worked as a community organizer for 6 years in Camden, NJ, and 2 years in New York City. Her master’s thesis, Anti-racist Therapy: The First Revolution is Internal, illustrates how mainstream therapy would be more effective if therapists took lessons from organizing, and embodied their role as stewards of safe spaces. She also has extensive training in trauma informed care, as well as expressive arts therapy.
