Give your teen the experiential tools they need to cope with anxiety, where they can practice with their peers in a safe environment.
Being a teen is hard! Especially in today's world. So many teens suffer from anxiety and do so in isolation. This group combines meditation and expressive arts therapy techniques to teach teens the necessary skills for reducing and managing anxiety. These same skills will also have the added benefit of supporting a secure sense of self.
Group Goals
Learn and practice new anxiety management tools
Discover ways to reduce anxiety in daily life
Find a sense of community amongst each other and learn from one another’s experiences
Who is this Group for?
Teens, ages 13-17. This group is inclusive of all genders and identities. This group is designed to be an introduction to therapy or an addition to individual counseling received with myself or another provider.
Required Materials:
Participants will need drawing materials and a journal for each session. For drawing materials, I recommend a sketchbook and pastels (either oil or chalk work fine).

Kaitlin Dougherty, AMFT, is a compassionate and experienced expressive arts therapist with a decade of working with teens and inspiring them to pursue well-being.
She works holistically, meaning that she not only tends to the mental aspects of self, but also the emotional, physical, spiritual, and cultural aspects. She aims to help clients heal their relationships between these different parts of themselves so that they can feel safe and at home internally, which hopefully leads to feeling that way more externally too.
